The role of leadership in talent management has taken an exponential leap in this new work context.
María Fernanda Castillo, founder of Nala Rocks, and Javier Uchuya, CEO of TalentBoost, join in an exciting conversation to explore the challenges and opportunities this landscape presents.
María Fernanda, with her roots in Korn Ferry and her experience leading regional teams from Chile, Brazil, and Mexico, created Nala Rocks with a clear vision: to offer a platform that, with agility and efficiency, helps companies retain talent using data analytics.
On his part, Javier Uchuya, an economist by training and with more than 15 years of experience in human resources, leads TalentBoost, where he advises on the positive influence of leadership in the organization.
Both leaders highlight the importance of adapting to the changing work environment and the crucial role leaders play in this adaptation. "When the leader wants to promote something, they must, first of all, be the example," says Javier, emphasizing that influence comes from leading by example and establishing genuine connections.
With the proliferation of hybrid and remote work, unique challenges arise. Connection in a virtual world is complex, but it is an irreversible trend. Solutions involve leveraging technology and establishing virtual spaces for interaction beyond work.
The topic of organizational culture, the company's "DNA," is another focal point. María Fernanda points out that culture not only affects employees' "happiness" or well-being but also has a direct impact on company costs. Both agree that culture is a reflection of leaders' behaviors, and that the work climate, how employees feel, is a differentiating factor and should not be confused.
Looking to the future, the adoption of artificial intelligence and digitalization promise to further revolutionize work in Latam. "Accepting that changes are coming, and they are coming very fast," is the first step, affirms Javier.
The final message from both is powerful: being a leader is a responsibility, but also an honor. As leaders, we have the ability to transcend and have a significant impact on the lives of those we lead.
